First Aid Awareness Program at AITM, Belagavi
Angadi Institute of Technology and Management (AITM) recently hosted a comprehensive First Aid Awareness Program aimed at equipping first-year students with essential life-saving skills. The program resource person Dr. Avinash Kavi from JNMC, Belagavi, highlighted the critical importance of first aid knowledge in addressing a variety of emergencies and accidents.
Dr. Avinash Kavi emphasized the significance of first aid skills in various scenarios such as sports-related injuries, accidents, choking, bleeding, burns, heatstroke, wounds, drowning, snake bites, fainting, seizures, and unconsciousness. Through hands-on activities, students gained practical experience in wound dressing, applying different types of bandages, and were introduced to various first aid techniques including triangular bandages, elbow bandages, hand bandages, shoulder bandages, among others.
The event was graced by Dr. Kiran Potadar, the First Year Coordinator and Head of the Mathematics Department, Dr. Vijay Kulkarni, Head of Physics Department, and Ms. Sneha Murari, Assistant Professor the physics Department. Miss Supriya Patil welcomed the audience with an invocation song, while Miss Mahalaxmi and Miss Rakshita skillfully anchored the proceedings.
