Press and Media Committee

Objectives:

  • To ensure that the college website is regularly updated, improved and well maintained.
  • The Committee manages the media relations of the institute and keeps the media updated with the happenings at the institute. This primarily involves covering various events of the college, writing press releases, taking photographs and ensuring that each and every event of the college gets its due media coverage.
  • Update the happenings of the institute in social media like facebook and twitter.

Responsibilities:

  • Regularly update the information/data given on the website under various items/heads so as to have the latest and correct information about the institute at all times and removes the incorrect and irrelevant data.
  • Collect information about the latest events in the institute, achievements etc and get them posted on the website by way of write ups and pictures etc.
  • Update all communications, notices, announcements etc on a regular basis.
  • Strive to make improvement in the website with respect to design, preventability etc on a continuous basis.
  • To obtain information from all the departments and place it on website.
  • To update it whenever required, at least once a month.
  • To check the updates of web site every fortnight and also to keep the information of any special programs as and when organized.
  • To place admission notifications, important circulars, college information etc.

Functionalities:

  • Provide training to members responsible for maintaining content within the website, including monitoring and maintaining training materials.
  • Manage permissions and access to administrative functions of the website. Ensure the site meets accessibility and other usability standards.
  • The committee is responsible for extensive coverage of all college events. It sends press releases to print and digital media, and posts updates on social media about all campus activities, blood donation camps, entrepreneur meets and student achievements and institute performance.

Associated Activities:

  • The Cell is expected to organize interactive sessions and formal meetings with coordinators and members regarding updating information in the website on regular basis.

Procedure:

  • The member Secretary, in consultation with the Chairman of the Committee, shall prepare a provisional agenda for meeting.
  • It shall be circulated to all Members of the Committee two days before meeting.
  • All the decisions should be taken on the basis of majority.
  • After the meeting, the Committee shall approve a report embodying its views, recommendations and decisions.
  • Maintain records of the committee in a separate file with supporting documents (notice/photos/ Statistical data /minutes of meeting).
