AITM Belagavi NSS Unit Conducts Tree Plantation Program in Collaboration with Equity Bank on World Environment Day.
In commemoration of World Environment Day, the National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of Angadi Institute of Technology and Management (AITM), Belagavi, organized a Tree Plantation program in collaboration with Equity Bank, Belagavi.
The event, held on June 5, 2024, saw the participation of faculty members, staff, and NSS volunteers from AITM, along with representatives from Equity Bank. The program aimed to raise awareness about environmental conservation and the crucial role of tree plantation in safeguarding our planet.
Dr. Kiran Potadar, Head of the Mathematics Department at AITM, elucidated on the significance of tree plantation and emphasized the collective responsibility of individuals in preserving the environment. His insightful discourse shed light on the pivotal role trees play in maintaining ecological balance and combating climate change.
Prof. M V Kanthi, from the Department of Civil Engineering, delivered a briefing on the importance of World Environment Day, emphasizing the need for sustainable practices and proactive measures to address environmental challenges.
Equity Bank officials, Mr. Asif and Mrs. Indira Priyadarshini, along with Mr. Prasad Panchakshari, H R Manager, AITM extended their support to the initiative. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from heads of various departments, faculty members, staff, and dedicated NSS volunteers, all contributing their efforts towards a greener, healthier planet. Through collective action and community engagement, AITM reaffirmed its commitment to environmental sustainability and echoed the global call for environmental protection.
