The Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Angadi Institute of Technology and Management-AITM, Belagavi recently organized a stimulating site visit to Halasi, Khanapur, Belagavi, including stops at Ramakrishna Ashram and Kamal Basti. This initiative was undertaken as part of a Tourism Promotion Activity, aiming to provide students with a holistic experience beyond the classroom and foster a sense of cultural awareness.
The itinerary included visits to significant historical and cultural sites:
Halasi: Renowned for its historical significance, Halasi is home to ancient temples and architectural marvels that reflect the rich cultural heritage of the region. The students had the opportunity to explore the intricate details of the temples and understand their historical context.
Khanapur, Belagavi: The picturesque town of Khanapur, located in the Belagavi district, offered students a glimpse into the local lifestyle and traditions. The visit aimed to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical exposure, allowing students to witness the cultural diversity of the region.
Ramakrishna Ashram: The visit to Ramakrishna Ashram provided an insight into the teachings and philosophy of Swami Vivekananda and Ramakrishna Paramahamsa. Students had the chance to engage in discussions on spirituality and the impact of their teachings on society.
Kamal Basti: A visit to Kamal Basti, known for its intricate architecture and historical importance, allowed students to appreciate the artistry of ancient monuments and gain a deeper understanding of the cultural heritage of the region.
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering at AITM, believes in providing students with a well-rounded education that goes beyond textbooks. This Tourism Promotion Activity not only served as an educational excursion but also encouraged students to appreciate the rich history and cultural diversity of our country.
