The 3rd, 5th, and 8th semester students of the Civil Engineering Department, Angadi Institute of Technology and Management (AITM) recently embarked on an insightful field visit to the construction site at Mangolo Meadows, Udyambag, Belagavi on February 29, 2024. The visit was organized as part of the institute’s commitment to fostering industry-academia collaboration and providing students with hands-on experiential learning.
During the visit, students engaged with various professionals in the construction field. This interaction served as a valuable opportunity for the students to gain practical insights into the complexities of real-world construction projects.
The main highlight of the visit was the examination of a high-rise G+12 storey apartment building currently under construction. This practical exposure allowed students to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and on-site applications, enriching their understanding of construction processes.
Mr. Akshay Davate, the structural consultant, shared valuable insights into the design aspects of the structure, enlightening students about the intricacies of planning and executing a construction project of this scale. Dr. G. S. Manjunatha HOD, Civil Engineering Department, AITM, emphasized the importance of such industry visits in enhancing the overall learning experience and preparing students for the challenges of the real world.
To further augment the understanding of reinforced concrete structures, professionals including 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟. 𝐊𝐢𝐫𝐚𝐧 𝐊𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐝𝐢, 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟. 𝐒𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐫 𝐁𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐨𝐧𝐤𝐚𝐫, 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐤 𝐇𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐢 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟 𝐑𝐚𝐯𝐢 𝐓𝐢𝐥𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐣𝐢 Professor’s of AITM guided the students through various aspects of construction methodology and structural engineering.
