Student Achievements

  1. Two B.E. Projects have been sanctioned funds from KSCST, under 40th series of Students Project Programme: 2016 – 2017. Evaluation of the sponsored projects was done at S.G. Balekundri Institute of Technology, Belagavi on 31st May 2017.

  2. Mr. Aditya A Shinge, 8th sem student presenting the details of the project progress during the evaluation. The title of the work is “Design of Desilting chamber at Rakkasakoppa dam – Belagavi” under the guidance of Prof.Noorahmed Hosamani. KSCST has sanctioned an amount of Rs. 6000 for this project.

  3. Mr. Kiran Patil and team exhibited the project reactor during the evaluation process. The title of the work is “Study on Treatment of Municipal Solid Waste land fill leachate using up-flow reactors with low cost waste adsorbent materials” under the guidance of Dr. B.T.Suresh Babu. KSCST has sanctioned an amount of Rs. 6000 for this project.

  4. Students of 8th sem Vinayakraddi B, Sagar Satwar, Triveni Waghamode, Manojkumar V presented a poster titled “Evaluation of BENNEHALLA Near Kurgeri stretch- a case study” at International Conference of Environmental and Hydraulic Systems at KLE’s MSS College of Engineering and Technology, Belagavi.

  5. Mr. Manjunath M. has secured 3rd rank for the course of M.Tech. among Scheduled Caste Candidates for the academic year 2015-16 of Visvesvarya Technological University, Belagavi.

  6. Five Student teams from 6th sem B.E. and 2nd sem M.Tech. have submitted Carbon Zero Challenge Projects to Indian Institute of Technology, Madras under the Guidance of Prof. Pradeep N V. These projects have innovative ideas to reduce carbon foot print. Following are the details of the projects submitted:

  8. Omkar, Javul, Mallikarjun, Gayatri secured 1st place in "SURVEY TREASURE HUNT" event in "SAMVEEKSHAN 2K17" organized by S.G.B.I.T., Belagavi. The event consisted of three rounds. The first round was purely technical aptitude test. The second was on the field where they had to carryout the fly levelling and calculate the level difference between two points. The final round was identification of the survey instruments. In this round the team got the highest points and secured 1st place.

  9. . Miss. Anjali Kalburgi of 5th sem Civil Engg. was felicitated for securing highest marks in Concrete Technology subject of fourth semester. She was honored by UltraTech Cement Ltd. at Sankam Residency, Belagavi. Every year UltraTech Cement Ltd. felicitates students scoring highest marks in Concrete Technology subjects.

  10. .Mr. Omkar G., was felicitated at SGBIT, Belagavi for securing 8th Rank in 6th semester results of VTU. He was honored as ABVP Yuva shilipi for “Excellence in Academics”.

Staff Achievements

  1. Prof. Pradeep N.V., attended a one week Short Term Training Program “Advanced Wastewater Treatment” at Indian Institute of Technology, Madras. The Program dealt with various aspects of new and advanced methods of handling toxic and highly polluted wastewater from various industries. The scope of Biogas production from organic wastewater was highlighted in the sessions. Prof. Pradeep N.V., had a chance to summarize the session details and shared his views with the participants..

  2. Prof. Amar S. Byakodi and Prof. Noorahmed A.H. demonstrated the applications and use of “Total Station” for students and faculties of the department. They explained the versatility and practical applications of Total Station in the modern approach to Surveying. They highlighted the applications such as accuracy of measurement is high, manual errors involved in reading and recording are eliminated, calculation of coordinates is very fast and accurate, even corrections for temperature and pressure are automatically made, computers can be employed for map making and plotting contour and cross-sections, contour intervals and scales can be changed in no time.
